Job summary

Raytheon Technologies in Marlborough, MA seeks a Principal Systems Administrator to design, implement, and sustain secure Windows and Linux enterprise environments for classified programs. This 24x7 role emphasizes DoD compliance and collaboration with Cyber Security, DevSecOps, and Networking teams.

The candidate will have 5+ years of relevant experience, an active DoD clearance, and hands-on VMware, MECM/SCCM, and PowerShell expertise.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master/doctorate with 3+ years.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start.
Experience administering and securing Windows and RHEL servers.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, maintain and patch Windows Server, Windows 11, RHEL 7/8/9, and virtualized infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment.
Coordinate with Cyber Security to ensure DoD and regulatory compliance.
Deploy and manage VM lifecycle with VMware ESXi and vCenter.
Automate deployment with MECM/SCCM, PXE, Windows imaging and in-place OS upgrades.
Administer core Windows services: Active Directory, Group Policy, certificate-based authentication.
Collaborate across Digital Technology, Engineering, Cyber Security, DevSecOps, Networking, Storage, Tools.
Provide on-site support in a DoD closed-area environment with occasional after-hours and up to 15% travel.
Obtain DoDD 8140/8570 baseline certification within 6 months.
Work 100% onsite; travel up to 15% to RTX locations MA, RI, NH.
