Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support USG Defense programs. The role involves managing VMware environments, Windows server administration, and security controls alignment with RMF/JSIG guidelines.

The candidate will collaborate with ISSMs and the FSO, lead patching, monitoring, backups, and automation efforts, and may perform basic Linux tasks or ISSO duties as needed. On-site with potential Friday WFH, relocation not available.

Qualifications

• Server and security tooling experience required; able to implement and manage security controls.
• Experience with Windows environments, AD, GPOs, and security hardening.
• Knowledge of DoD RMF/JSIG frameworks and classified processing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead virtualization management for VMware environments and storage.
• Administer Windows endpoints; patching and change control.
• Develop system architecture for new programs and lifecycle activities.
• Manage firewalls, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and endpoints.
• Define Active Directory and Group Policies to support security standards.
• Monitor system health and optimize resources.
• Lead backup and disaster recovery implementations.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell/CLI.
• Install and troubleshoot engineering software in Windows.
• Create documentation for ongoing workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement security controls.
• Support basic Linux admin or ISSO duties when needed.
• Information Assurance activities including data and media handling.
• Enforce security policies per NIST and JSIG standards.
