Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Senior Switching Software Customer Engineer Escalations to lead high-severity customer incidents in data center environments. The role emphasizes onsite work 2+ days weekly, with deep expertise in switching and fabric troubleshooting across complex networks.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, provide clear guidance to executives, and drive rapid incident containment, root cause analysis, and long-term improvements through post-mortems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in production switching and data center networking.
• 3+ years troubleshooting modern data center fabrics and overlays, including EVPN/VXLAN, with knowledge of control-plane and data-plane interactions.
• Experience with Linux VMs, Visual Studio, Jira/Confluence, Python, and Bash.
• 6+ years leading high-severity, customer-impacting incidents or escalations.
• Strong communication and judgment for cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end technical escalation execution, from intake to stabilization and resolution.
• Analyze logs, captures, configs, and telemetry to isolate root cause across Layer-2/Layer-3.
• Define workarounds, mitigations, or containment strategies while investigation proceeds.
• Lead cross-functional coordination across TAC, Engineering, QA, Product, and Sales.
• Communicate status updates and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
• Produce post-mortems, root cause analyses, and share improvements with teams.
