Job summary

The Music School of Delaware seeks a full-time Suzuki Violin/Viola faculty member to join its Suzuki Academy on the Wilmington campus. The role involves private lessons, group classes, chamber music, and outreach, with opportunities for professional performance and collaboration with families and colleagues.

The successful candidate will have Suzuki training up to Level 7 and a proven record in teaching violin/viola, including group instruction, with a commitment to inclusive, student-centered

Qualifications

• Master of Music in Violin Performance or related field preferred; exceptional candidates with a Bachelor may be considered.
• Registered Suzuki Teacher Training through Level 7 required with commitment to ongoing development.
• Minimum of three years Suzuki violin/viola teaching experience, including group classes.

Responsibilities

• Teach weekly private violin/viola lessons to students aged four to advanced levels.
• Teach Suzuki group classes and, when assigned, chamber music.
• Lead summer lessons and camps as needed.
• Support annual Youth Strings Camp and ensemble programs.
• Prepare engaging lessons for diverse ages and abilities.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in department meetings and events.
• Maintain student records and communicate with families in a timely manner.
• Participate in recitals, outreach performances, and Academy events.
