Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey is seeking a Sustainability Data Analyst to manage environmental data, analytics, and regulatory compliance across energy, waste, and compliance programs.

You will collect, validate, and report datasets; develop KPIs and dashboards with Excel, Power BI, and MS Access; collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen data controls and enable timely reporting. You will also support forecasting models and renewable energy tracking to drive sustainability goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in sustainability, environmental analytics, or related field.
  • Experience manipulating large data sets.
  • Experience collaborating with team members to provide suggestions on data management.
  • Experience providing data validation and auditing.
  • Experience reviewing current state of data-driven processes.
  • Experience developing KPIs and dashboards.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics tools such as Excel, MS Access, Power BI, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience using reporting, visualization, and analytical tools to build insights, communicate findings, and deliver actionable business solutions to stakeholders.
  • Ability to connect various requirements into one synchronized process and work with various stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clarify complex issues.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively and manage multiple competing projects to timely completion.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental data management, analytics, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Collect, validate, and report environmental data across energy, waste, and environmental compliance programs.
  • Review Scope 1 and Scope 2 environmental datasets, including validation, reconciliation, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Maintain energy and waste data tracking models for performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Analyze energy and waste performance trends and anomalies and prepare internal reporting summaries.
  • Collaborate with Internal Audit and cross‑functional teams to enhance environmental data controls and processes.
  • Support forecasting models for energy and waste data.
  • Coordinate environmental analytics‑based project planning with Energy Engineering and internal teams.
  • Maintain renewable energy tracking tools and monitor progress toward renewable energy goals.
  • Compile and track renewable energy credits from multiple sources.
  • Monitor active solar arrays, trend energy production, and initiate repairs and maintenance for owned solar.
  • Coordinate renewable energy projects and issue resolution with internal teams, landlords, and vendors.
  • Support landlord‑owned and operated onsite solar activities, including re‑roofs, RTU replacements, and solar repairs.
  • Maintain sustainability documentation and SOPs for environmental regulatory compliance.
  • Support audit readiness through documentation, data validation, and record organization.
  • Coordinate data and documentation for sustainability disclosures.
  • Prepare datasets and reporting for federal, state, and local environmental compliance programs.
  • Identify and address gaps in data controls and compliance processes.
