Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking a Senior Sustainability professional to lead disclosures, analytics, and reporting across the organization. The role oversees governance, data accuracy, and cross-functional alignment with targets.

You will mentor a team of sustainability professionals, develop content for internal and external audiences, and ensure compliance with evolving reporting standards and regulations. Collaboration with sales and service teams will be essential to promote sustainability

Qualifications

• Understanding of sustainability reporting and carbon accounting.
• Ability to lead end-to-end project delivery with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with ratings agencies and related stakeholders is preferred.
• Experience in waste, transportation, or environmental services industries is an advantage.
• Experience managing data systems, vendors, and analytics processes is preferred.
• Ability to translate sustainability issues into measurable goals and metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and agile problem-solving.
• Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting and data analytics is preferred.
• 4–7 years of relevant corporate sustainability experience.

Principal Responsibilities

• Sustainability disclosures: Manage, contribute to, and oversee all sustainability-related disclosures while ensuring strong data governance, accuracy, and control.
• Analytics integration: Lead pathways for embedding sustainability analytics into business processes and support the development of analytical tools for new and existing business areas.
• Performance tracking: Monitor progress against economic and sustainability goals, gather feedback from business units, and help keep the company aligned with its targets.
• Internal sustainability support: Serve as a key contact for sustainability-related questions across the business, supporting sales and service teams in promoting sustainability initiatives.
• Content and messaging: Use environmental and sustainability industry knowledge to develop integrated sustainability content and messaging for internal and external audiences.
• Reporting improvement: Track reporting trends, benchmark peer practices, and monitor changes in sustainability reporting standards to strengthen external reporting.
• Best-practice alignment: Update reporting approaches to reflect evolving reporting expectations, standards, and industry best practices.
• Compliance guidance: Stay informed on relevant laws and regulations and provide advice to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
• Team leadership: Coach, develop, and support a team of sustainability professionals to build capability and improve performance.
• Service quality management: Monitor team performance, drive improvement initiatives, and ensure service levels meet or exceed agreed standards.

Qualifications

• Sustainability reporting knowledge: Understanding of sustainability reporting and accounting practices, including carbon accounting and related performance measures.
• Project execution: Ability to lead end-to-end project delivery while managing multiple stakeholders and coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Ratings and rankings exposure: Experience working with ratings or ranking agencies and related stakeholders is preferred.
• Industry experience: Experience in waste, transportation, or environmental services industries would be an advantage.
• Data ecosystem management: Experience managing data systems, vendors, and analytics processes to support business outcomes is preferred.
• Goal and metric development: Ability to translate sustainability issues into measurable goals and metrics while building stakeholder interest and engagement.
• Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
• Adaptability: Ability to respond quickly to changing priorities, understand new concepts easily, and apply agile problem-solving to achieve efficient outcomes.
• GHG and analytics knowledge: Familiarity with greenhouse gas accounting and data analytics is preferred.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant experience: 4-7 years of work experience in corporate sustainability, sustainability consulting, corporate governance, or a related field.
