Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Environmental Protection professional to administer programs, guide regulatory compliance, and coordinate permits across water, air, and waste topics. You will lead teams, provide technical direction, and train site personnel to uphold corporate environmental standards.

Responsibilities include incident notifications, regulatory interactions, field testing oversight, and data-tracking, with a strong emphasis on training and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; HS diploma with 7 years experience acceptable.
  • 7 years of environmental protection experience.
  • Regulatory environment knowledge relevant to compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations.
  • Stormwater Operator certification preferred.
  • Work outdoors/indoors in inclement weather.
  • REAL ID or TSA-approved travel access if required.

  • Serve as the Area/Market Area Environmental Protection contact.
  • Provide technical guidance on environmental topics and regulatory environments.
  • Monitor and investigate compliance status.
  • Provide training and recommendations to site, district, Market Area management, and operations personnel.
  • Lead Environmental Protection team professionals in Groups/Areas when required.
  • Communicate and implement Corporate Environmental Protection program policies and strategies.
  • Handle incident notifications, permit applications, and expansion projects across water, air, and waste frameworks.
  • Identify regulatory impacts and interact with authorities.
  • Investigate findings, prepare documents, and support compliance enforcement.
  • Coordinate action-plan resolution and agency negotiations.
  • Plan, organize, and secure permits and regulatory approvals.
  • Develop and oversee field testing, investigations, and guidance.
  • Manage activities involving wastewaters, stormwater, groundwater related to waste collection and disposal.
  • Provide technical and project direction to consultants and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with Special Waste Program requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver Environmental Protection training and education.
  • Maintain data-tracking databases and provide reporting.

Job description

  • Identify local, state, and federal regulatory impacts and interact with regulatory authorities
  • Investigate and assess regulatory findings, prepare related documents, and support compliance enforcement
  • Coordinate action-plan resolution and regulatory agency negotiations
  • Plan, organize, and secure environmental permits and regulatory approvals
  • Develop, coordinate, record, and oversee field testing, investigations, assessments, and guidance
  • Manage activities involving petroleum products, leachate, landfill gas, sanitary and industrial wastewaters, stormwater, and groundwater related to waste collection, transportation, and disposal
  • Provide technical and project direction to consultants and site/Market Area staff
  • Ensure compliance with Special Waste Program requirements
  • Prepare and deliver Environmental Protection training and education
  • Maintain Environmental Protection data-tracking databases (Cycle) and provide company reporting
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • In lieu of degree: High School Diploma/GED with 7 years of related work experience
  • 7 years of environmental protection related experience
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment as it applies to environmental protection and compliance
  • Basic understanding and working knowledge of how to read regulations
  • Environmental Certifications, such as Stormwater Operator (preferred)
  • Ability to work inside and outside in inclement weather, heat and humidity
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for business air travel or federal property access
