Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Senior Surveyor to lead field surveying and geospatial data collection across Texas, aligning with TxDOT, FAA, and municipal standards. You will manage crews, coordinate logistics, and mentor junior staff while expanding the firm’s presence in the state.

You will collaborate with engineers and clients to define project scope, perform complex computations, and ensure deliverables meet quality standards. Strong leadership and outdoor work readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Professional Surveyor in Texas or ability to obtain licensure.
• 5+ years of progressive surveying/geospatial experience.
• Strong background in boundary, topographic, construction, and control surveys.
• Experience with robotic total stations, RTK GPS, and data collectors.
• Familiarity with LiDAR, UAS, or mobile mapping technologies preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer.
• Proven ability to lead crews, manage workflows, and deliver projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving, with strong communication.
• Ability to work outdoors in variable weather; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee field survey and geospatial data collection operations.
• Plan and coordinate projects, including crew scheduling and logistics.
• Interpret legal descriptions, plats, and engineering plans.
• Perform and oversee complex survey computations and data processing.
• Integrate data from LiDAR, UAS, and mobile mapping platforms.
• Review deliverables for TxDOT, FAA, and municipal standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and clients to define scope and workflows.
• Mentor and develop junior staff; implement QA/QC procedures.
• Support project budgeting, estimating, and proposal development.
• Strengthen client relationships to grow Fishbeck’s Texas presence.
