Job summary

Bowman Consulting in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Survey Project Manager to lead complex land surveying projects from inception to delivery, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will manage cross-functional teams, win new business, coordinate with clients and internal departments, review cost sheets, and mentor junior staff while upholding the firm’s standards and professional ethics. This role is on-site in Charlotte.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in land surveying or related field preferred.
• Professional Land Surveying registration.
• 10+ years of land surveying or related experience, including 2+ years in project management.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Carlson principles.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and project teams.
• Understanding of financial principles in a consulting business.
• Proven marketing and business development skills.
• Licensed surveyor in relevant state.
• Experience managing a Survey Department preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct project teams to execute survey projects on time and within budget.
• Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and establish budgets and schedules.
• Monitor client communications to resolve technical and billing questions.
• Oversee all surveying activities and assess contract changes affecting staffing and budget.
• Supervise survey personnel to meet high professional standards.
• Define scope of complex projects and monitor progress toward deliverables.
• Compile project status reports and manage monthly billings.
• Assist with marketing and business development to secure repeat and new clients.
• Supervise Project Managers when needed.
