Job summary

Bluebird Staffing is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to serve as the Survey and Mapping Practice Leader in Chantilly, VA. This senior role oversees strategic direction, operational management, and growth of the surveying department, reporting to senior leadership and collaborating across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate will lead licensed and non-licensed professionals, drive operational excellence, support business development, and champion safety, quality, and innovation

Qualifications

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
Extensive land surveying experience.
Leadership experience managing surveying teams.
Strong understanding of boundary determination, construction surveying, topographic surveying, and geospatial technologies.
Experience developing budgets, forecasting workloads and revenues.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for all surveying and mapping operations.
Develop departmental strategies aligned with company goals.
Establish policies, procedures, and technical standards.
Monitor workload forecasts and revenue projections.
Support recruiting and professional development.
Drive QA/QC programs and adopt new technologies.
