Job summary

Stantec in Albuquerque, NM seeks an experienced Survey Party Chief to lead field surveys, ensure safety, and manage data collection. You will perform boundary, ALTA, topographic, and construction staking using Trimble and AutoCAD tools, while coordinating with project managers and field staff.

You will drive to sites, supervise crew, and mentor junior staff, with opportunities to advance as technology and procedures evolve. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of survey experience.
• Associate degree or technical school diploma/certificate.
• Experience with Trimble Data Collectors, robotics and GPS software preferred.
• Experience using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD / Civil 3D, and other office software a plus

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with field supervisor, project managers and office staff.
• Independently perform surveying assignments, taking exact measurements and providing data for land features.
• Operate and maintain survey instruments including levels, robotic total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
• Transfer survey data to project files and prepare field data for analysis.
• Supervise survey field crew, ensure safety, timelines, and budgets are met.
• Drive company or personal vehicle to job sites; may require out-of-town travel.
• Assist in preparing survey drawings using AutoCAD and Trimble software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
