Job summary

Accura Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician with strong land surveying and CAD design background. Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, InRoads/OpenRoads and GDOT standards is required.

The role involves drafting survey drawings, creating 3D terrain models from field data, collaborating with project teams, and supporting field crews to ensure accurate deliverables and project success.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years CAD and survey software experience.
• 5+ years of land surveying experience.
• At least 1 year field and office surveying experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with GDOT standards and processes.
• Experience with survey software and equipment is essential.
• At least 1 year of MicroStation experience preferred.
• Associate Degree in Technical Drafting or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process daily field survey data using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD to create high-quality survey drawings.
• Develop 3D digital terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
• Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including GDOT compliance.
• Collaborate with designers and project managers to deliver accurate results.
• Ensure field crews collect necessary data by maintaining strong communication.
• Prepare and compile information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
• Revise plats and drawings based on supervisor feedback and red-lines.
• Assist in preparing preliminary layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
• Conduct basic surveys such as closings, foundations, and elevation certificates.
• Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against conditions and advance toward certification.
• Maintain accuracy by checking calculations, plats, and worksheets to meet standards.
• Support office staff, clients, and cross-department teams to complete projects.
• Develop technical skills while fostering team growth.
