Job summary

Bowman is seeking a Survey CAD Technician III to join our San Diego team. The role focuses on preparing and finalizing project deliverables and contract documents while adhering to company and municipal standards.

You will leverage AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble tools to produce accurate drawings and perform critical boundary computations. The position requires 5+ years of survey/CAD experience, a relevant degree or commensurate experience, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree in survey, geography, architecture or civil engineering preferred; commensurate experience considered.
• Five or more years of relevant survey/CAD experience in land development/land survey.
• Proficiency in land surveying and/or surface modeling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, SmartDraft, Trimble Access, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare working drawings from ALTA surveys for final approval and submission.
• Use critical thinking and problem-solving to manage multiple projects with limited supervision.
• Convert data into electronically generated drawings and project documents with accuracy.
• Perform horizontal and vertical computations for boundary surveys and field location analyses.
• Read client requests and adhere to municipal/jurisdictional standards and specs.
• Draft final house location surveys from field notes and measurements.
• Compute positions for buildings, streets, curbs for stakeouts and submissions.
• Check record plats for completeness and accuracy prior to review.
• Submit plots to municipal/jurisdictional agencies for review.
• Utilize ALTA Land Title Surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary survey practices.
• Conduct research using GIS data and other agencies.
