Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey CAD Technician to join our team in Atlanta, GA.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in land surveying and CAD design, with proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD to produce high-quality survey drawings. You will develop 3D terrain models, draft plans and plats, and work closely with designers and project managers to ensure accuracy, standards compliance (GDOT), and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years CAD and survey software experience.
• 5+ years land surveying experience.
• Field and office surveying experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with GDOT standards and processes.
• Knowledge of MicroStation preferred.
• Associate Degree in Technical Drafting or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process daily field survey data using MicroStation and AutoCAD to create high-quality survey drawings.
• Develop 3D digital terrain models from field data for engineering design using InRoads/OpenRoads or similar software.
• Draft and design for various land surveying projects while adhering to CAD standards, including GDOT requirements.
• Collaborate with designers and project managers to deliver accurate results.
• Ensure field crews collect data by maintaining strong communication and coordination.
• Prepare and compile information for plans, as-builts, and final plats.
• Revise and refine plats and drawings based on feedback from supervisors.
• Assist in preparing layouts, specifications, and documentation for survey projects.
• Conduct basic surveys, such as closings, foundations, and elevation certificates.
• Occasionally assist in the field to verify drawings against conditions and move toward certification.
