On-call is required, day shift, 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m., 20 hours per week. The unit emphasizes teamwork among RNs, Surgical Technologists, and Support Staff, with a focus on patient safety and patient-family centered

Qualifications

• High school diploma Required
• Associate's Degree. Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Preferred
• 3 years of independent Surgical Technologist experience. Certification must be maintained throughout employment to maintain Senior status Required
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
• Surgical Technologist Certified (CST) – NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery (TS-C) NCCT Required upon hire

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed.
• Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.
• Acts as a preceptor and engages with management and education team on surgical technology curriculum.
