Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Surgical Technologist for the Transplant Team at Carolinas Medical Center - Pre Transplant Center. The role requires flexibility to support surgeries during evenings, nights, or weekends and involves assisting in aseptic technique and instrument handling.

You must have a graduate of an accredited surgical technology program, current BLS for Healthcare Provider, and 5 years OR experience with 2 years in specialized areas such as neurosurgery,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology; military training program in Surgical Technology or Operating Room Specialist acceptable.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• 5 years of total operating room experience; 2 years in neurosurgery/spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex ortho, or robotics.

Responsibilities

• Possesses thorough knowledge of aseptic technique and its application.
• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments before, during and after procedures.
• Prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and assists with room turnover.
• Monitors sterility of supplies and documents charges accurately.
• Supports high-skill procedures in neurosurgery, spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, robotics.
