Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a full-time role in the Pineville OR, covering neurosurgery, spine, cardiothoracic, vascular, complex orthopedics and robotics. You will assist in aseptic technique, prep supplies and instruments, and support room turnover.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or military training, current BLS for Healthcare Provider, NBSTSA or NCCT certification, and 5 years OR experience with 2 years in specialized

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or completed military Operating Room Specialist training.
• Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior, during and after surgical procedure.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
• Assists RN circulator in patient prep, assembly of supplies, instruments, and specimens; supports room turnover.
• Monitors sterilization and supplies for accuracy and sterility.
• Acts as a preceptor and clinical resource; contributes to policy and procedure development.
