Job summary

UNC Rex Healthcare in Cary, NC seeks an experienced Surgical Technologist to maintain sterile fields in the operating room and ambulatory setting. You will prepare instruments, pass instruments safely, and ensure proper counts to support surgical teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; higher-level degree may satisfy this requirement.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program or Military Training Program in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains sterile field and environment.
• Prepares OR with instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
• Passes instruments safely and counts sponges, needles and instruments.
• Assists in Sterile Processing as needed.
• Mentors less experienced staff and serves as a resource.
