Job summary

The Medical College of Wisconsin is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator to coordinate operative scheduling for the Transplant Surgery program in Milwaukee. You will collaborate with providers, OR staff, and patients to ensure timely, efficient scheduling and clear pre/post-operative instructions.

You will manage routine and complex cases using EPIC OpTime, communicate with clinical teams, resolve scheduling conflicts, and support a culture of patient-centered care with meticulous attention

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of healthcare scheduling or administrative experience.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with scheduling complex operative cases.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Schedule routine and complex operative cases and coordinate times with providers and the OR.
• Collaborate with schedulers to resolve conflicts and optimize the surgical schedule.
• Communicate with staff, providers and patients to coordinate care.
• Provide patient information about pre- and post-operative instructions.
• Coordinate pre-procedure planning and pre-certification processes.
• Utilize EPIC OpTime to schedule surgical procedures.
• Maintain a collegial, supportive work environment.
