Job summary

Johnson & Johnson RAD (Robotics and Digital) in Santa Clara is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer Surgical Robotics – OTTAVA to drive New Product Development and introduction for surgical robotics solutions. Lead cross-functional teams, manage design decisions, and ensure regulatory compliance across the development lifecycle.

You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to deliver robust, manufacturable designs that meet 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485 standards and ISO 14971

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum four years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturing or Assembly (DFM/A).
• Experience with regulated medical device development (21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, IEC 60601).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD and GD&T.
• Experience working with external suppliers.
• Knowledge of MSA, DOE, PFMEA.

Responsibilities

• Develop robust component and manufacturing processes for NPD projects.
• Lead design reviews, risk assessments and design for manufacturability decisions.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing and suppliers to implement robust manufacturing solutions.
• Ensure designs meet GMP requirements and regulatory guidelines.
