Job summary

Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc seeks a civil/environmental engineer to conduct analyses of surface water systems, model stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects, and prepare LOMR applications. You will use HydroCAD, HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS, and PCSWMM, communicating results to a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a BS (MS preferred) in Civil/Environmental Engineering, 0–5 years’ experience, GIS proficiency, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar required.
• MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or similar degree is a plus.
• EIT or ability to pass exam within six months preferred.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling required (HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM).
• GIS analyses and mapping experience required.
• Experience modeling/designing stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects a plus.
• 0–5 years of experience; interest in surface water hydraulics/hydrology required.
• Willingness to collaborate remotely with colleagues in other offices.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze surface water systems and perform computer-aided evaluations.
• Model and support design of stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
• Prepare Letter of Map Revision applications.
• Use HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, PCSWMM.
• Communicate results to a multidisciplinary team; write and present summaries.
• Conduct field work to collect data for model development.
• Occasional travel to client sites in New England, mid-Atlantic, and Carolinas.
