Job summary

Anschutz Exploration Corporation seeks a Senior Manager, Surface Land to lead negotiations and manage surface land rights across the Powder River Basin. You will coordinate with the Denver Office and field teams, develop annual plans and budgets, and ensure timely access for field activities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Energy Management or related field, at least 10 years in E&P and 5 years in surface land, with exposure to Rockies assets and Federal Lands.

Qualifications

• Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced negotiation, dispute resolution, and drafting skills.
• Experience with surface and mineral rights and federal/state access requirements.
• Proficiency with land records systems, maps, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Leads negotiations and drafts surface use agreements, rights-of-way, easements, and related agreements with surface owners.
• Executes annual business planning, strategy and budgeting for surface land needs.
• Identifies surface constraints and secures rights before field activities begin.
• Acts as liaison between Denver Office, surface owners and field personnel.
• Communicates with federal/state agencies to obtain access and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Tracks and documents agreements and payments.
• Coordinates with construction personnel and surveyors on facility locations and staking.
• Directs field brokers and monitors schedules, costs, and work quality.
• Maintains productive landowner, agency, and industry relationships.
