Munich Re Specialty - North America is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist - Surety to lead in-house handling of performance and payment bonds. You will direct investigation, adjust, litigate, and coordinate with counsel and vendors to drive optimal outcomes for complex surety claims.

You will analyze coverage, manage investigations, set reserves, and collaborate with internal/external partners to improve claim efficiencies while supporting business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; JD a plus.
• 8+ years experience in handling surety matters.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and strategic in decision-making.
• Strong verbal and writing skills for internal and external communication.
• Willingness to travel for mediations, settlement conferences, and client or account meetings (25%).
• Maintain valid adjusters' license(s) in states assigned or the ability to obtain same.

Responsabilités

• Thoroughly investigate and assess claims against surety bonds for coverage, damages, and recoveries.
• Understand coverage issues, bond forms, contracts, and regulatory requirements for Performance and Payment Bonds.
• Manage claims promptly with a strategic vision for optimal outcomes.
• Set reserves reflecting exposure changes throughout the claim life.
• Demonstrate strong technical claims proficiency and apply best claim practices.
• Coordinate with outside counsel and vendors to achieve optimal results.
• Present high-exposure claims to Claims Leadership and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners for client meetings and audits.
• Pursue recoveries and risk transfer where warranted.
