Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking a maintenance support associate in Columbia to handle purchasing and parts logistics for the mechanic shop. You will use the SCEIS and HMMS systems to post time, research parts, create job sheets, and post items to service tickets.

You will also maintain stock, assist in receiving and storing parts, coordinate deliveries, and perform housekeeping. Overtime and weekend hours may be required during emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months of related work experience.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Process shopping carts, purchase orders, and goods receipts using SCEIS.
• Assist in coordinating receiving and storage of parts and office supplies.
• Post mechanics time, research parts, create job sheets and post items to service tickets in HMMS.
• Maintain housekeeping and maintenance duties inside and outside the Mechanic Shop.
• Issue parts from stock room to mechanics and maintain records.
• Call vendors for pricing.
• Assist in emergency operations and may be available for extended shifts.
• Maintain computerized mileage reports on equipment.
