Job summary

CesiumAstro is hiring a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality engineering teams across qualification, development, and CAPA in the aerospace and defense supply base. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
• 9+ years of related experience with 2–5 years in leadership/management of quality or supplier quality teams.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier quality requirements.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Experience with supplier qualification, PPAP, and AS9102 processes.
• Working knowledge of SPC and quality inspection methods.
• Understanding of ITAR/EAR and DFARS for aerospace/defense suppliers.
• Leadership skills and cross-functional collaboration ability.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems like Acumatica or SAP.
• Familiarity with QMS software and PLM tools.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to ~50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple supplier quality engineering teams responsible for qualification, development, surveillance, performance management, and CAPA across the supply base.
• Establish supplier quality priorities, allocate resources, and translate objectives into staffing and execution plans.
• Develop quality leaders and engineers through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and workforce development.
• Oversee supplier qualification, risk assessment, site audits, source inspections, and supplier status across aerospace commodities.
• Ensure requirements are flowed down and suppliers comply with QMS, engineering, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
• Evaluate manufacturing processes, FAI/AS9102, PPAP, inspection methods, and quality documentation for readiness and capability.
• Review supplier performance using defects, nonconformances, on-time delivery, SCARs, etc. to identify risks.
• Guide containment, root-cause analysis, CAPA, disposition, and verification of corrective actions.
• Escalate risks and drive SCARs, supplier recovery, and capability improvement plans.
• Collaborate with engineering and supply chain to address producibility and DFMs; drive continuous improvement.
