Job summary

CesiumAstro in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality engineering teams across aerospace and defense programs. You will establish priorities, manage audits, CAPA, and supplier development while aligning with engineering and manufacturing to ensure high-quality hardware.

You will drive PPAP/AS9102, evaluate process capability, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to reduce risk and improve performance. Willingness to travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field.
• 9+ years of related experience with 2–5 years in leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier requirements.
• Proficient in root cause analysis and structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
• Experience with PPAP and AS9102 processes; SPC experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with ITAR/EAR/DFARS; cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Acumatica, SAP).
• Proficient with QMS software; exposure to PLM tools.
• Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality engineering teams across supplier qualification and development.
• Set supplier quality priorities, allocate resources, and execute plans.
• Develop quality leaders through coaching and workforce development.
• Oversee supplier qualification, audits, and PPAP/AS9102 processes.
• Ensure flow-down of requirements and compliance with QMS and regulations.
• Evaluate processes, FAI/AS9102 readiness, and inspection methods.
• Review supplier performance metrics and identify risks.
• Guide containment, root cause analysis, and CAPA implementation.
• Escalate risks and drive supplier corrective actions and recovery.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain on DFx and risk mitigation.
• Monitor supplier capability, trends, and development priorities.
