Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Manager to lead supplier quality engineering across aerospace programs. You will drive qualification, audits, PPAP/AS9102, and CAPA, partnering with engineering and manufacturing to mitigate risk and improve supplier performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 and aerospace supplier quality requirements.
Experience with supplier qualifications, PPAP, and AS9102 processes.
Proficiency in root cause analysis and structured problem solving (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Acumatica, SAP) and QMS software.
Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

Manage multiple supplier quality engineering teams responsible for supplier qualification, development, surveillance, performance management, and corrective action across the supply base.
Establish supplier quality priorities, allocate resources, and translate objectives into staffing, workload, and execution plans supporting program and organizational requirements.
Develop quality leaders and engineering personnel through coaching, performance management, succession planning, workforce development, and technical growth.
Oversee supplier qualification, risk assessment, site audits, source inspections, and approved supplier status across aerospace commodities and processes.
Ensure supplier requirements are flowed down and suppliers comply with QMS, engineering, customer, contractual, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, FAI/AS9102, PPAP, inspection methods, and quality documentation for readiness and capability.
Review supplier performance using defects, nonconformances, ON-time delivery, SCAR performance, and other quality indicators.
Guide resolution of complex supplier nonconformances through containment, root cause analysis, corrective and preventive action.
Escalate significant supplier quality risks and guide SCARs and recovery activities.
Partner with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain to address producibility, DFM, and quality risks.
Evaluate capability and trends to prioritize development for critical and strategic suppliers.
Advance supplier quality processes, analytics, and continuous improvement to strengthen supply-base resilience.
