Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives at on-site locations in Grayling, MI or Auburn Hills, MI.

The role includes travel up to 50% and oversight of supplier quality management, audits, and continuous improvement efforts. The position requires a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or quality, extensive supplier QA experience, AS9102 knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to drive improvements across supplier

Qualifications

• Six or more years in engineering/quality with supplier quality background.
• Experience with supplier quality management systems and audits.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for supplier engagement.
• Ability to travel to supplier sites for audits and inspections.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Proven track record in driving quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supplier qualification, selection, and evaluation against quality requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance using quality metrics and compliance data.
• Lead corrective actions with suppliers for quality issues and CAPAs.
• Provide guidance to suppliers to improve manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Collaborate with engineering on new product introductions and AS9102 FAI reviews.
• Review incoming inspection procedures and perform source inspections as needed.
• Investigate non-conforming product issues and manage supplier corrective actions.
• Use statistical tools to analyze data, identify trends, and report on supplier performance.
• Ensure supplier compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
