Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer to provide technical leadership in developing and implementing manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems.

You will lead cross-functional initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery, reliability, and continuous improvement. The role requires directing complex projects from concept through production with emphasis on process validation, data analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience in manufacturing process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through implementation and production.
• Proficiency with engineering documentation, data analysis, and standard manufacturing engineering tools.
• Strong technical communication, presentation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to independently determine appropriate engineering methods, procedures, and evaluation criteria for complex assignments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional discussions and align stakeholders with differing priorities.
• Collaborate with teams to identify needs, resolve issues, and develop manufacturing solutions.
• Develop and improve manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions.
• Create testing/validation methods to assess new or modified processes.
• Track project progress, identify risks, and drive corrective actions.
• Apply Lean, Six Sigma, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving.
• Lead equipment selection, installation, qualification, and validation.
• Improve processes for safety, quality, productivity, and OEE.
• Guide projects from concept to production launch and validation.
• Translate technical issues into business impacts, risks, and opportunities.
• Analyze process data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Provide technical leadership for processes and projects.
• Use data to drive fact-based decisions and continuous improvement.
• Identify new technologies and best practices for capability gains.
• Communicate status, risks, and results to leadership.
