Job summary

Lumentum is seeking a Lead Supplier Quality Engineer for Optical Transceiver products in San Jose. You will own supplier quality strategy, lead supplier qualification, and drive readiness across NPI and production ramp.

You will collaborate across Product Engineering, Global Sourcing, and Manufacturing to ensure world-class supplier capability and product quality. The role requires 8+ years in supplier/quality engineering in high-tech manufacturing, deep understanding of high-speed optics, and

Qualifications

Experience in supplier quality engineering within high-technology manufacturing.
Technical understanding of optical transceiver architecture and high-speed electronics.
Experience with NPI, supplier qualification, process validation, and ramp.
Ability to influence cross-functional technical decisions and drive supplier capability.

Responsibilities

Serve as Prime SQE for Transceiver products and own supplier quality strategy.
Lead supplier qualification, capability assessments, audits, and readiness evaluations.
Support NPI, design reviews, DFM/DFX activities with engineering and suppliers.
Lead supplier process qualification, FAI, validation, and production readiness.
Drive Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and cost-reduction with suppliers.
Collaborate with Product Engineering, Commodity Management, Global Sourcing, and Manufacturing.
