Job summary

Lumilens in San Jose, CA is hiring a Senior/Staff Process Engineer to own and mature manufacturing processes for optical transceivers, including 800G and 1.6T programs. You will define processes from die attach to general assembly, work with CM partners, and drive continuous improvement across yield, throughput and quality.

You will lead process documentation, change control, and equipment selection, collaborating with design, QA, and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 7+ years in high-volume optical transceiver/laser manufacturing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, materials and methodologies for optical assemblies.
  • Experience with die attach, wire bond, active alignment and general assembly.
  • Ability to work in a geographically diverse cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, prove out, and deploy manufacturing processes for new transceiver products.
  • Own process documentation, change control, and process changes on the production line.
  • Lead equipment selection and new equipment introduction from buy-off to manufacturing release.
  • Collaborate with design engineering and contract manufacturing to meet DFM guidelines.
  • Analyze process and yield data, drive CAPA, and support qualification and burn-in tests.
  • Automate manufacturing processes where possible to scale up production.
