Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Vans, LLC (MBV) in Ladson, SC seeks a skilled Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality during launches and engineering changes. You will assess supplier readiness, manage PPAP/PPA submissions, and drive sustainable corrective actions to ensure flawless SOP and ramp-up.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years of automotive launch experience with VDA-RGA, strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP/FMEA, and ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering in a relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of automotive launch and supplier quality experience, including VDA-RGA.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP/PPA, VDA 6.3, FMEA, and process control.
• Ability to travel extensively to supplier locations internationally.
• Fluent (spoken) Spanish and excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities during new vehicle launches and engineering changes.
• Evaluate supplier readiness through milestones, PFMEA, control plans and capacity studies.
• Monitor launch KPIs, risk status, and supplier escalation activities.
• Review PPAP/PPA submissions and approve readiness for SOP.
• Drive corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, and lessons learned.
