Job summary

Brose North America Inc. in Auburn Hills, MI, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to lead APQP, PPAP and supplier launches. You will review PPAPs, run design/process validations, conduct Run@Rate, and manage supplier quality gates and root-cause actions.

Strong knowledge of FMEA, MSA, GD&T and SAP is required, with excellent communication to internal teams and suppliers. Ideal candidates have 5–7 years in automotive supplier quality, a relevant engineering degree, and a proven track record of

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Quality Engineering.
• 5–7 years of Supplier Quality experience in automotive.
• Experience with APQP, PPAP, and supplier launches.
• Experience with AIAG and/or VDA 6.3 methodologies.
• Experience Run@Rate activities and supplier performance evaluation.
• Knowledge of core quality tools: FMEA, SPC, MSA, GD&T, RCA.
• PDCA and 8D problem solving experience.
• Experience reading CMM reports and dimensional inspection.
• SAP modules related to Supplier Quality.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Supports BD development to ensure a successful launch of supplier tools.
• Leads supplier feasibility activities during the sourcing stage for manufacturing readiness.
• Performs Supplier Quality Gates per Brose process, including on-site reviews.
• Reviews and approves PPAP submissions and supplier launch readiness.
• Executes and supports APQP activities throughout the launch and development cycle.
• Conducts supplier process reviews, Run@Rate activities, and audits to verify capability and capacity.
• Manages supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions using structured problem solving.
• Demonstrates knowledge and adherence of SAP compliance.
• Monitors supplier deviations and escalation summaries to management.
• Serves as the key contact between suppliers and the Brose Customer Team.
