Job summary

Gutor in Houston, Texas, seeks a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier QA activities for electrical powers systems. You will drive supplier qualification, audits, CAPA, and coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to strengthen the supplier base and ensure ROHS/PPEP compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in supplier quality, strong leadership, and communication skills, plus the ability to manage containment and 8D-based corrective actions. Travel ~20% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in supply quality assurance in electrical/power electronics.
• Experience with supplier qualification, supplier audits and CAPA process.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control and production operations.
• Certified SAM Auditor or equivalent qualification for supplier audits.
• Experience with PPEP or equivalent part qualification procedures.
• Strong leadership and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic support to the Supply Chain Manager in supplier assessment and qualification.
• Participate in SAM process and improve the plant's supplier panel.
• Implement SQM and Supplier Performance (SPM) at plant level, for in/outside group suppliers.
• Qualification of parts via PPEP within ROHS and related processes.
• Participate in PPEP and Production Part Evaluation Process (PPEP) for process improvement.
• Ensure PPEP effectiveness for supplies and manage incoming inspection.
• Monitor supplier quality performance and escalate to SQD when needed.
• Implement containment, corrective and preventive actions using 8D methodology.
• Manage supplier claims in alignment with company procedures.
