Job summary

BorgWarner in the United States is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality assurance from supplier selection and product development through series production and ongoing performance management.

The role serves as the primary quality interface with suppliers, driving containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, and prevention using AIAG core tools, 8D, and statistical methods, while partnering with Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or automotive settings.
• Leadership of APQP, PPAP, corrective action, supplier audits, and launch-readiness.
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AIAG core tools, control plans, GD&T, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and capability data.
• Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality planning for new programs through APQP.
• Review and approve PPAP submissions and related records.
• Develop supplier quality requirements aligned with drawings and customer specs.
• Lead containment and investigation of nonconforming material.
• Manage supplier corrective actions and 8D closure.
• Plan supplier audits (process, system, capacity) and close findings.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive improvement plans.
