Job summary

Aeva is seeking an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to own supplier quality across the full lifecycle—from initial sourcing through development, tooling, and industrialization to product launch and ongoing business management.

You will collaborate with Product Development to set module and process controls, implement APQP with suppliers, conduct audits, investigate issues, and drive corrective actions while ensuring ISO/IATF compliance and strong supplier performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years work experience in a manufacturing or quality role.
• Advanced knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes and inspection methodologies.
• Expert in automotive quality management standards and processes.
• Proficient with IATF 16949 core tools including APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA and PPAP.
• Travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Product Development to establish new product and process control standards.
• Develop robust control plans with manufacturing partners to ensure quality and zero defects.
• Implement APQP processes from design through PPAP and mass production start.
• Perform supplier audits and site inspections verifying automotive QMS compliance.
• Investigate quality issues to determine root cause and apply corrective actions.
• Establish inspection plans and design new test methods for gauges.
• Lead improvement initiatives to optimize KPIs and process performance.
• Select suppliers with the right capabilities to meet quality and timelines.
