Job summary

Ingenium Talent partners with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier to hire a Supplier Quality Engineer. You’ll drive supplier quality performance, support new product launches, and uphold world-class manufacturing standards.

In this cross-functional role you’ll coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to resolve issues, lead root cause analysis, and ensure PPAP, IATF 16949 compliance, and cost recovery.

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of Supplier or Quality Engineering experience in manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and APQP/PPAP quality tools.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing performance issues.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions across organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier quality performance initiatives, tracking and improving KPIs.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D) with suppliers.
  • Review and approve PPAP submissions and ensure compliance.
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams on process changes and improvements.
  • Support new product launches, ensuring components meet quality expectations from day one.
  • Ensure suppliers meet customer-specific requirements and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Own and manage nonconforming material processes, including Hold for Inspection.
  • Lead or support cross-functional problem-solving and quality improvement projects.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and provide guidance to internal teams and suppliers.
  • Drive cost recovery efforts related to supplier quality issues.

We’re partnering with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier that is looking to add a Supplier Quality Engineer to their team. This is a high-impact role where you’ll work closely with both internal teams and global suppliers to drive quality performance, support new product launches, and ensure world-class manufacturing standards.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Lead supplier quality performance initiatives, including tracking and improving key KPIs
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, etc.) with suppliers to ensure long-term solutions
  • Review and approve PPAP submissions, ensuring compliance with customer and internal requirements
  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to manage process changes and continuous improvement efforts
  • Support new product launches, ensuring purchased components meet all quality expectations from day one
  • Ensure suppliers meet all customer-specific requirements and IATF 16949 standards
  • Own and manage nonconforming material processes, including “Hold for Inspection” items
  • Lead or support cross-functional problem-solving and quality improvement projects
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and provide guidance/training to internal teams and suppliers as needed
  • Drive cost recovery efforts related to supplier quality issues
What You Bring
  • 3–5+ years of Supplier or Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • IATF 16949
  • PPAP / APQP / Core Quality Tools
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and managing performance issues
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Ability to lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions across organizations
Nice-to-Have
  • VDA Auditor certification
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
