Job summary

IPD (Industrial Parts Depot, LLC) seeks a Supplier Development Manager to design and maintain an advanced supplier development system ensuring quality, continuous improvement, and efficiency across internal operations and the supply base.

The role focuses on developing new and existing suppliers through technical assessments, audits, and APQP/PPAP activities, while coordinating with internal teams to meet quality standards and warranty objectives. Significant travel (20–30%) is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality management or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in sourcing, quality, and/or supplier development in manufacturing.
• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, and quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains process control methodologies (SPC, Cp/Cpk, PFMEA, Control Plans) across suppliers.
• Leads process validation and capability studies with suppliers for new and existing production processes.
• Supports suppliers implementing robust process controls and mistake-proofing.
• Conducts supplier audits assessing quality systems, process capability, and risk prior to approval.
• Ensures ISO 9001 compliance and IPD’s supplier quality requirements.
• Leads ongoing supplier audits focusing on process capability and improvements.
• Maintains supplier scorecards and communicates results in quarterly reviews.
• Drives corrective action follow-up and monitors effectiveness of improvements.
• Leads Lean and Six Sigma projects to improve quality and reduce waste.
• Travel approx. 20-30% (passport required) and ability to travel internationally.
