Job summary

Divergent, located onsite in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality & Development Engineer. This hybrid role balances supplier development with rigorous supplier quality engineering to build a high-performing supplier base and ensure materials meet stringent standards.

You will lead audits, RCCA actions, and process improvements across APQP/PPAP, with a focus on OTD, quality metrics, and cost efficiency. Domestic travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
• 7–8 years of progressive supplier quality engineering experience.
• Knowledge of APQP/PPAP/FMEA.
• Understanding of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001.
• Experience with GD&T and datum structures.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Interface between production, procurement, suppliers, and customers to ensure conformance to specs, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and improve supplier quality manuals, procedures, and inspection plans.
• Communicate customer requirements to suppliers and flow them down in POs.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and source inspections; implement corrective actions.
• Lead RCCA actions to prevent recurrence of defects; drive improvements in OTD, scrap, and costs.
• Support MRB activities and supplier capability assessments.
• Travel up to 50% for supplier development and issue resolution.
