Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Supplier Industrialization Engineer for the Plastics & Composite Powertrain team to drive best-in-class product quality throughout development. This high-visibility role requires deep technical expertise, strong collaboration across functions, and the ability to manage complex schedules in a fast-paced automotive environment.

The ideal candidate will lead cradle-to-grave supplier quality for plastics components, implement APQP/PPAP, and coordinate with suppliers

Qualifications

5+ years of high-volume manufacturing and assembly plant experience in plastics components in supplier quality or manufacturing engineering roles.
Engineering analysis including tolerance analysis, stress analysis, mold flow analysis, DFM.
Hands-on supplier industrialization, SQE, APQP and PPAP experience.

Responsibilities

Own injection molding part design and material selection.
SME in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) and application for inspection setup and tolerancing allowances of molded components.
Use of Design of Experiments, Measurement System Analysis/Gage R&R, Process Capability and SPC.
Cradle-to-grave supplier quality responsibility for Plastics components (AAR, Appearance, Class-A surfaces).
Develop, manage and improve APQP with suppliers from design stage through PPAP submission and start of mass production.
Collaborate cross-functionally to guide Engineering development to select qualified suppliers meeting Lucid's expectations and timeline.
Coordinate supplier industrialization activities between the DRE and GSM, deliver design documents, create build schedules, monitor progress.
Lead design reviews ensuring manufacturing needs are considered and quality expectations defined.
Work with suppliers on technical design elements and create new manufacturing techniques as needed.
Drive and track internal ECRs and Change Management activities.
Develop quality plans, test methods and gauges, identify failure modes and process weaknesses, drive preventative actions.
Work with Plant Manufacturing, IQ, Materials Planning and SQEs to contain supplier quality issues and protect Lucid plants.
Investigate supplier quality issues to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.
Perform supplier audits and site inspections; drive process improvements and monitor performance metrics.
Support system assembly build, define incoming parts inspections procedure, track build issues and drive containment actions.
Travel 30-50% to Lucid Motors and supplier sites globally on short notice.
