Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Sr. Supplier Industrialization Engineer for the Plastics & Composite Powertrain team in Southfield, MI.

You will guide upfront design development and collaborate with suppliers to create new manufacturing methods and control strategies to meet ambitious specs and ensure flawless launches. You will lead DFx feedback, review tooling, and support RFx activities while working with cross-functional teams across Global Supply Chain and Design Engineering.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, MS preferred or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of hands-on New Product Introduction experience in automotive plastic & composite development
• Deep knowledge of thermoplastic molding and secondary processes (injection molding, extrusion, compression molding)
• Experience taking multiple new products from concept phase through production
• Experience with product lifecycle management tools (Auros, Arena PLM)
• Ability to read schematics and drawings and knowledge of quality standards (IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, GD&T)
• Certification preferred (ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt)
• Experience with RoHS, REACH, EV battery safety, ISO 26262 and functional safety

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with suppliers to provide DFM feedback and approve tooling via molding trials
• Provide supplier feedback on materials and manufacturing methods to design concepts
• Solicit and present DFx feedback to Design Engineering for down-selection
• Serve as the voice of the supplier to internal engineering during Development build phases
• Support RFx efforts and develop the technical data package used for supplier bids
• Collaborate developing custom manufacturing and assembly processes to be outsourced
• Travel 25-75% as needed to supplier sites
