Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Sr Engineer Supplier Development to ensure the quality performance and manufacturing readiness of Low Voltage power distribution and charging components across our global supplier base.

You will own APQP/PPAP, lead supplier industrialization, and apply data-driven analysis to mitigate risks, influence sourcing decisions, and drive continuous improvement. This onsite role requires travel 50–60% and supports multiple US sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 3+ years supplier development experience.
• Experience managing commodities and understanding economic and technology landscapes.
• Lead supplier industrialization and manufacturing-readiness for Electrical Hardware commodities.
• Collaborate with Electrical Hardware & Charging Engineering on DFM/ DFA, tolerance, test, traceability, and process-control topics.
• Familiarity with AIAG and VDA quality and product-development methods.
• Experience with soldering, SMT, through-hole assembly, automated optical inspection, end-of-line testing, crimping, potting, sealing or electrical test processes.
• Knowledge of electrical safety, EMC/EMI, ESD, functional safety, cybersecurity, and traceability requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing techniques and supplier performance ownership.
• Strong communication and ability to align large groups and defuse conflicts.
• Travel: Regular domestic and international travel expected 50-60%.

Responsibilities

• Own quality performance for LV power distribution and charging components, maintaining CL3 status.
• Proactively identify challenges and propose solutions to remove risks before they impact production.
• Lead APQP/PPAP process for assigned parts and monitor timelines with suppliers.
• Serve as technical owner for industrialization and manage final quality sign-off.
• Operate with moderate autonomy to drive improvements within an assigned scope.
