Job summary

Rivian in Plymouth, MI is seeking a Sr Engineer Supplier Development to ensure supplier quality and continuous improvement for chassis components. You will own APQP/PPAP processes, drive risk mitigation, and maintain strong supplier relationships while traveling 30–40% domestically and internationally.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years in supplier development, with experience in APQP/PPAP and FMEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant supplier development experience.
• Experience managing commodities and understanding economic and technology landscapes.
• Lead supplier industrialization and readiness for chassis components (Stampings, Castings, Forgings, Welded Assemblies, Brakes and Wheels and Tires).
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality performance for chassis and maintain Low-to-No Risk (CL3).
• Proactively identify challenges and propose solutions to remove risks before production impact.
• Lead APQP/PPAP process for assigned parts and ensure on-time delivery of quality milestones.
• Act as technical owner for industrialization of assigned suppliers and influence peers with data-driven insights.
• Operate with moderate autonomy to drive improvements within an assigned scope.
