Job summary

Abbott's Portland, OR facility is seeking a day shift Senior Production Supervisor (4:00am-2:30pm) to achieve production results in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through a high-performing team. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong daily engagement with staff and a hands-on approach to communication, problem-solving, and performance management.

The role manages a diverse set of processes, monitors metrics, and drives continuous improvement while promoting a safe, compliant work

  • Effective communication (verbal, written, and visual) and interpersonal skills.

The Opportunity:


The Portland, OR facility is seeking a day shift Senior Production Supervisor (4:00am-2:30pm) to achieve production results in the area of safety, quality, delivery, and cost though a high-performing and motivated team. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong daily engagement with staff and a hands‑on approach to communication, problem‑solving, and performance management.


What You’ll Work On



  • Manage a team of manufacturing operators and technicians (including full-time and contingent staff) across a diverse set of processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.

  • Manage day-to-day operations for the production shift, including training, labor allocation, material flow, production scheduling, line support, and change management.

  • Monitor performance metrics and visual management systems to drive accountability and continuous improvement with production staff.

  • Promote a safe and positive work environment

  • Ensure required product quality levels and requlatory compliance are achieved through the use of standard work and training to those standards.

  • Lead cost reduction and operational performance initiatives to improve efficiency, throughput, and manufacturing performance that achieve both daily and long-term goals.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse, skilled workforce; provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.

  • Cross-train, develop, and mentor staff to ensure long-term production results.


Required Qualifications:



  • Associates Degree or higher

  • Minimum of 7 years manufacturing supervisory experience in a regulated, multi-product, and multi-process environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop employees.

  • Effective communication (verbal, written, and visual), interpersonal, and motivational skills.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and hold production team accountable for results.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects that improve production results.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Medical device industry experience

  • Experience with manual manufacturing processes (incl. cutting, soldering, crimping).

The base pay for this position is $78,000.00 – $156,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
