Job summary

City of Delray Beach seeks a Supervising Engineer to lead engineering and CIP initiatives. The role oversees project planning, design, permitting, procurement, construction, inspection, and financial management for critical public works projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum ten years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• At least five years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience with municipal CIP projects is preferred.
• Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of engineering staff, including Project Managers and GIS personnel.
• Oversee City CIP projects from planning through closeout, including scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Coordinate design, permitting, procurement, construction, inspection, and contract administration for municipal infrastructure.
• Prepare and review project reports, budgets, and progress updates for City management and boards.
• Ensure compliance with City policies, laws, and professional engineering standards.
