Job summary

Zachry Underground & Utility Services seeks a Superintendent to plan, direct, and oversee field operations on underground utility projects. You will work with Project Managers, engineers, foremen, and subcontractors to deliver safe, on-schedule construction in water, sewer, drainage, and utility infrastructure.

You will lead field teams, manage equipment and materials, enforce safety, monitor quality, and drive project execution while maintaining thorough reports and documentation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of underground utility construction experience with increasing leadership responsibilities.
• 3+ years supervising crews on water, sewer, drainage, or utility infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations, trench safety requirements, and industry best practices.
• Experience managing schedules, production goals, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate with project teams, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with daily reporting, production tracking, and project documentation.
• Ability to operate tablets and mobile construction software applications.
• Capable, licensed, and approved to drive a company vehicle as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily field operations for underground utility projects.
• Supervise Foremen, crew, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
• Plan and coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and production activities.
• Monitor project schedules and adjust field operations to meet milestones.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with policies and regulations.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and field inspections.
• Review plans, specifications, and utility drawings for accurate installation.
• Coordinate with inspectors, owners, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Monitor production, quality, and project progress to achieve goals.
• Assist with project planning, work sequencing, and problem resolution.
• Maintain daily reports, production tracking, and project documentation.
• Mentor and develop Foremen and field personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
