Job summary

Ultipro is seeking a hands-on Superintendent to oversee underground utility field operations in McKinney, TX. You will lead foremen and crews, review plans, and coordinate with project teams to meet safety, quality, and schedule targets.

You will ensure adherence to OSHA standards, manage multiple crews and projects, and communicate with customers and inspectors. Travel to project sites as needed and uphold company procedures across the field.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of underground utility construction experience, with previous Superintendent or field leadership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of underground utility installation and construction methods.
  • Experience with water, sewer, storm drainage, dry utilities, conduit, telecom, and/or electrical conduit preferred.
  • Experience with TxDOT projects and subdivision development strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and utility drawings.
  • Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, crews, schedules, and priorities.
  • Knowledge of construction safety requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel to project locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations for underground utility construction projects.
  • Coordinate foremen, operators, pipe layers, laborers, subcontractors, and other field personnel.
  • Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to keep projects on schedule.
  • Monitor production, job progress, and overall project performance.
  • Ensure crews follow safety policies, OSHA requirements, and project-specific safety procedures.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections and address safety, quality, or production concerns.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, General Superintendent, inspectors, engineers, municipalities, and customers.
  • Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Assist with resolving field conflicts, scheduling issues, and unforeseen jobsite conditions.
  • Monitor equipment utilization and report maintenance needs.
  • Review and verify employee time, production quantities, and daily field reports.
  • Hold foremen and crews accountable for productivity, attendance, workmanship, safety, and procedures.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, and sequencing of work.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, inspectors, subcontractors, and management.
  • Participate in project meetings as required.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within production expectations.
