Job summary

Austin Commercial in Austin, TX is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead a $4 Billion project and manage day-to-day field construction activities. The role requires overseeing a large staff of employee-owners, enforcing safety, and coordinating with PMs and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• B.S. in construction management, construction science, engineering, or relevant discipline preferred.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training required (may obtain within first year)
• 10+ years of commercial construction field experience with direct supervisory experience
• Ability to read plans and specs; proficiency in managing multiple high-performing teams
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Leads and oversees day-to-day field construction activities on assigned jobsite
• Organizes and manages a large project staff with multiple employee-owners
• Ensures overall safety at the jobsite and implements safety plans
• Reviews submittals, shop drawings, and schedules to determine scope and resources
• Plans layout of the jobsite and sequencing of startup activities
• Directs field engineers in survey and layout ensuring accuracy before foundation work
• Plans daily and weekly activities by craft with detailed schedule forecasts
• Monitors procurement of self-performed building materials and tools
• Inspects all field work and enforces high-quality workmanship
• Coordinates with architects, engineers, and consultants to resolve issues
• Assists PM in evaluating schedule and cost impacts
• Assists in manpower projection and labor-cost control
• Assists in equipment projection and maintenance costs
• Ensures compliance with laws and company policies
• Manages scheduling of governmental inspections for occupancy
• Leads health and safety initiatives and OSHA compliance
• Maintains relationships with owners, architects, and consultants
• Supports training and development of subordinates
• Leads career development and promotions within staff
• Performs close-out tasks and as-built documentation
• Maintains detailed daily activity reports
• Administers Safety & Health Manual
