Job summary

Kimmel & Associates, Inc. is assisting with a national search for a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on a major correctional facility project along the Gulf Coast.

The role demands extensive field leadership and a proven track record in detention construction. The Senior Superintendent will manage onsite construction, safety, quality, and scheduling, coordinating large subcontractor teams to deliver the project on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction experience with significant field leadership.
• Extensive detention, correctional, or prison construction experience.
• Proven experience leading large-scale correctional projects with complexity and value.
• Ability to lead large field organizations and multiple subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of sequencing, logistics, safety, quality, and field operations.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
• Strong execution, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work full-time onsite along the Gulf Coast.

Responsibilities

• Lead all onsite construction and field operations for a major correctional facility.
• Direct large field teams, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Establish and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Coordinate sequencing, materials, site logistics, and manpower.
• Drive safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
• Monitor progress and field productivity; resolve issues.
• Coordinate with project management and leadership.
• Support planning, risk management, and execution strategies.
• Ensure activities meet contract requirements and standards.
• Provide strong field leadership through all project phases.
