Job summary

Kimmel & Associates is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on a $800 million ground-up correctional facility along the Gulf Coast. You will oversee onsite construction, safety, quality, scheduling, logistics, and subcontractor coordination for a multi-building project.

This role requires 15+ years of experience in detention construction, proven ability to run large field teams, and full-time onsite work; candidates from anywhere in the United States are encouraged to apply

Qualifications

• 15+ years of construction experience with significant field leadership.
• Extensive detention, correctional, or prison construction experience.
• Proven experience leading large-scale correctional projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large field organizations and multiple subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of sequencing, logistics, safety, quality control, and field operations.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling software.
• Strong project execution, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability and willingness to work full-time onsite along the Gulf Coast.
• Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States; this is a national search.

Responsibilities

• Lead all onsite construction and field operations for a major correctional facility.
• Direct large field teams, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Establish and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or comparable scheduling software.
• Coordinate construction sequencing, materials, site logistics, and manpower requirements.
• Drive project safety, quality, productivity, and schedule performance.
• Monitor progress and field productivity while identifying and resolving potential issues.
• Coordinate closely with project management and other project leadership.
• Support project planning, risk management, forecasting, and execution strategies.
• Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Provide strong field leadership throughout all phases of the project.
